Lake Manyara

Safely traversing the border between Kenya and Tanzania, we settled into the most comfortable jeep I have ever been in (or maybe it was just the transition from mini-van to jeep that made it seem that way).
After a briefing in Arusha and picking up two new travelling companions, we started the short drive to Lake Manyara, a 231 square kilometre park surrounding Lake Manyara.
Perhaps the highlight of Manyara was our lodge. We were escorted (to prevent wildlife attacks) to our beautiful room with two showers (one outside) and a bath, before enjoying a swim in the infinity pool overlooking the lake. We quickly learnt not to unplug any electrical equipment (it wouldn’t go back in thanks to the two pronged sockets in a three pronged power point) and enjoyed the lovely Mexican singing.
The drive around the lake in the morning was pleasant, but with no animals to add to the list and only a few hippo and baboons, I’ll leave the following photos to describe the lake for you.
